7/22/09:Congrats

finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in "Survival of the
Wittiest" 2009.
7/11/2009: The
roster for the Finals is now posted! Congrats to Chris
Billinger, Elliot Woolsey, Jesse Carter, Jodee Champion,
Leif Cedar, and Matthew Thornton. Sign-ups for the next
contest will begin July 15, 2009.
6/18/2009: The
roster for both rounds of the semi-finals are now up.
These are on Wednesdays, as per originally scheduled,
not Thursdays. Also, if someone that is friends with
Jodee Champion, Adam White, or Chalmer Williams would
let them know about this, it would be helpful. I didn't
hear back from them when I sent out the email asking
for date availability, so they got assigned dates.
6/8/09: The
roster for Jun 11 is now up. Very sorry for the very
late notice. I have emailed the people with slots since
the posting was so late.
5/23/09: The
Wed May 27th show has been moved to Thur May 28th. The
roster for that show is now posted and, since I was a
little late in getting it out, the participants have
also been emailed directly.
IMPORTANT NOTE:The format of Survival of
the Wittiest is changing. The move to Thursday night will
put you in front of even better crowds, but cuts back on
the number of slots available. This means the "brand
new to the club" people (of which there seems to be
a very larger number these days) will have a longer wait
to get seen. This means you don't want to waste that opportunity.
Ideally, you don't want to appear at the club for the first
time until you can really shine in a 3 minute slot. If you
are just OK, you won't get bumped up to the 5 minute contest
slots and probably won't be seen again for several months.
Choose your time to break into the club wisely.
5/8/09:Sign-ups
still heavy, particularly in the "brand new to Wits" category.
4/24/09: Sign-ups
still heavy, but I'm getting caught up with the extra
slot. Remember, even if you can't be there a week, sign-up
and say "I can't be there, just keeping in the rotation" in
the comment. That way I don't see a blank in the signup
spreadsheet I keep. Sometimes I don't notice someone
has been signing up a lot because of the gaps in their
sign-ups. I just look for three signups in a row.
4/10/09:And
again, sign-ups for Apr 15 were heavy, particularly in
the "new to the club" 3 minute and "been
at Wits once" category. I added a slot again. Keep
signing up, you will get on.
3/27/09: And
again, sign-ups for Apr 1 were heavy, particularly in
the "new to the club" 3 minute and "been
at Wits once" category. I added a slot again and
I put some brand new people on the show, in spite of
the fact I won't be there, which I don't like to do.

3/10/2009:
Once again, sign-ups for Mar 18th were heavy, particularly
in the "new to the club" 3 minute and "been
at Wits once" category. Keep signing up. I added
a slot this time to try to accommodate more people.

the "new to the club 3 minute" category. Keep
signing up, you will get on!
1/24/09:The
roster for Jan 28 is up! Sorry for the delay, but when
I'm really late like this, I send an email to each
person getting a slot. Also, remember Wits End has moved to
6080 W 92nd Ave, which is about two blocks north of
where it used to be. The Conoco station is your place
to turn
in.
1/20/09:Please
note the next New Talent night is Feb 4, which is only
1 week after Jan 28. After that, we'll get back on a
regular 2 week schedule.
1/5/09:Signups
for the "Survival of the Wittiest-2009 have now
started. I am sorry for the delay in posting information
here, but I've been heavily involved with 4 different
theatrical productions and moving of the Wit's End lights
and sound to the new club this holiday. Please let your
comedian friends know we are back up and ready to go
again.

am sorry for the slowness of the posting of the roster.
I'm in rehearsal for a play right now, but once it opens
this coming Friday, things should be more timely. Also,
several of you that have not done your first set at Wits
are due, but I try to hold off putting you on until I
know I can be there to see you and provide feedback.
