MATERIAL
ADVISORY
We are looking for acts that can open and MC at
Wit's End. Wit's End's audiences have come to expect a certain
quality of act and the following guidelines are to help
you tailor your act to succeed at Wit's End. Your choice
of material at any other venue is your choice. If you have
any question about using a bit, feel free to pitch it to
Jay. Error on the safe side!

I realize this
may seem bit heavy-handed, unfair, prudish..., but we are
trying to help you succeed, not judge you personally for
your material.
STAGE
TIME SIGNALS (from the stoplight at back)
green light – go
yellow light - 15 seconds left, you can start a bit (this
is at 30 seconds for contest slots)
red light – finish the bit you are on, do not start a new
bit
flashing red – get off the stage now!
Club
Conduct
(If you get stage time)
- You must
check in 30 minutes before show time or your time will
be given to someone else.
- You must
stick to your time, if you do not you will not be asked
back.
- You may bring
up to 4 of your friends and family free of charge. Just
have them give your name at the door. If you need more
than 4 tickets, contact Jay.
- You can have
free non-alcoholic beverages (water and soda) but you
must purchase any specialty or alcoholic drinks. Please
remember to tip the wait staff, even if you only request
the free beverages.
- You are not
allowed in the bar area or green room. you must remain
in the area designed by the club.
- If
you do not show and do not contact Jay 24 hours in advance,
you will probably not be invited back for sometime. This
is not because you have hurt Jay or Wit's End, but because
you have wasted a space that some other comedian wanted
and would have used. If you no-show, you are hurting others
in the same position you are in.
